My Response to Nisith Jariwal's Letter Regarding Patidar Anamat Andolan

First of all, thank you for writing a peace on the current movement and making me answerable to your letter, point by point.

Let me start from the point one, as far as the language of the speech delivered by Hardik Patel on Maha Rally/Kranti Rally is concerned, yes I agree he has delivered it in Hindi and I don’t think there is any problem in it, because he was trying to address the whole nation and not only the Gujarat and Gujaratis. Indeed, people from other states have also participated in that rally who can’t understand Gujarati but understand Hindi easily. Today, reservation became a very important issue not only in Gujarat but also in each and every corner of the country. It requires nation-wide debate and discourse. Therefore, delivering his speech in Hindi language was a welcome step to start a new discourse in the history of the Independent India. Indeed, the discourse has been started across the country after this incidence. Today, people have started talking about merits and demerits of reservation, electronic media has started debating the issue, print media has started writing about it and people on social media are expressing their views freely. Apart from this don’t just look at this Maha Rally speech, look at all other speeches he has delivered since this movement started, he has delivered all his speeches in Gujarati. Therefore, language is not an issue at all, the important thing is the discourse/debate has started across the country.

Second, the movement is going on for last two month, therefore focusing and talking about reservation for 20 minute in his speech is an enough time. I didn’t found anything in his speech defaming Gujarat government or our Prime Minister, he was just addressing the ground realities and truth. The ground realities of the Gujarat is very different from what have been highlighted and projected. Someone has to address it, he has done it, nothing wrong in that it wasn't against anyone or any establishment. And, no one can impose their political views on anyone, everyone has their choice and preferences, if people will like it they will follow. In the present context, imposition of others ideas is not possible, this is the beauty of this great Democracy.

Third, the sentence you have picked up and mentioned in your letter was only in the context of reservation, and was for the Governments of all the states and central Government, So don’t try to manipulate it. Indeed, the word you have used “Al Queda Leader” for him is really dreadful and outrageous for the entire community and others as well, because he was representing whole community and others as well. If you have noticed properly.

Fourth, it was neither a challenge, nor an order to the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Everyone has right to express their views and expression, so I think It was expressions rather than challenge or order. And it’s up to the CM and government to decide whether she should come or not, therefore it’s not an issue.

Fifth, Yes, I agree that he has said the sentence which you have mentioned. And as per your view only that sentence has provoked the people toward violence, but it’s totally wrong. The true reasons for violence are many and everyone knows, which I have mentioned below in detail. Why you are only picking the targeted sentences, he has also said a lot about peaceful protest, you could have also highlighted that into your open letter. And everyone knows the real cause of the violence including you. Nowhere, in the history of the independent India people including women and elder people protesting peacefully have been LATHICHARGED/ATTACKED brutally, in a very short time of sitting on the fast. So, my dear friend address the root causes of the violence which we all including you already knows and also have evidences of it.

Yes, Reservation is Possible. Because, Article 368 of the constitution of India has given power to the Parliament to amend the Constitution, Laws and Procedure. Through this, government can make it possible. Additionally, do you know how many Castes were there in OBC when it was came into existence??? Do you know how many Castes were included in OBC till date??? If, not than visit this site, you will get the numbers.
If many number of community/castes have been included in the list of OBCs, in aftermath of its existence to till date, without doing proper survey, than why not Patel’s, Rajputs, Darbar, Brahmins, Marathas and all Other Castes (OCs) included with doing proper survey. Therefore, Reservation is possible, what requires is proper and unbiased survey and political will.

Yes, We really need Reservations. First, as you mentioned Patidar is a Gujarati word for landowner. And in very Second line you wrote that as the name suggest Patidar is the wealthiest castes across Gujarat, there is no logic in it. Because, you have no idea about who are the real land-lords in Gujarat. They are not Patel’s, in each and every community there are land-lords. I can saw you many landlords who are getting benefits of the reservations, especially in OBCs. Yes, I agree with you that most of the industries of Gujarat are dominated by the Patel’s, but what percentage they are of total population of the Patel’s? They may be 10 or 12or 15 percent, what about the rest of the people. Further, You have said most of the Indian immigration in the USA are Patel’s, but you have not said why they gone there? Why they have to leave their own country? Find out the answers of these questions to know the real situation. As far as the issue of Mercedes and luxurious cars are concerned they have gathered there to help and support the community, and nothing is wrong in helping the community. Therefore, that is not an issue. As far as the issue of an institutions are concerned, No institution, can go against the reservation policy of the Government, and if, in case institutions run by Patel’s will give admission to the Patel’s beyond the reservation policy, people like you come out and raise the voice.  Not, many but majority of the farmers are suffering from the failure of crops due to water scarcity, high rate of fertilizers and agro products, here I am talking about all the farmers and not only Patel’s. The present condition of all the farmers are very critical. Government must focus on the farmers and the issues faced by them.

I support this movement, PATIDAR ANDOLAN MOVEMENT, because injustice in education and Jobs will not be tolerated. Government must change their reservation policy, all who belongs to GENERAL category are not rich and all who belongs to reservation are not poor. ALL PATEL’S ARE NOT RICH, this mind set needs to be change. Similarly, ALL WHO BELONGS TO GENERAL CATEGORY ARE NOT RICH. What about those students who have very good academic records, very good merit but does not have very good economic condition and in addition belongs to the General Category, and due to this reason they does not get admission in institutions and universities. Where will they go??? How they will pursue their education??? Who will pay their fees in lakhs??? What about their future??? Therefore, I believes that only needy person/people must get reservation, irrespective of Castes, Community and Religion.

Yes, this movement was totally peaceful. First of all the rallies were going on since last 55 days, very peacefully. Even in Surat rally more than five lakhs people have joined and was ended peacefully. Second, yes I agree with you that government, especially the police has cooperated in organizing this Maha rally. It went peacefully, ended peacefully as per the last 55 days. But, the questions comes here is that why the rallies going on peacefully since last 55 days including  Maha rally of 5th August, suddenly turned violent???  The other most important question is that, why the police cooperating peacefully till evening become violent suddenly??? Why there was a need to cordon the GMDC ground when there were very few protesters at the ground??? Why people have been latchicharged brutally, including women and elder people??? Why, Hardik Patel was arrested only for the 25 minutes??? Who have ordered for the lathicharge on the peaceful protesters when everything went peacefully? These all are very serious questions and tells a lot. Nowhere, in the history of the independent India people who are protesting peacefully have been lathicharged in just few hours of peaceful protest like this. We have many examples of peaceful protest and hunger strike gone for many days without lathicharge or brutal attack, the Anna hazare movement is a great example of it. But, why there was a need to attack on People protesting peacefully at GMDC??? The truth is coming out these days. Why police were damaging the properties of only Patel’s??? Why they have used derogatory language and insulting demand from women???

Yes, I am agree that burning buses and damaging public property is not a right way for any agitation, but before that you must carefully look at all above serious questions. And my dear friend have a courage to address the fact from both the side.

As far as fighting for community is concerned, Yes we are fighting for our community and we have been also supported by several other communities as well. But, if this movement will result in changing the current reservation policy or if reservation on the basis of Economically Backword Class (EBC) will introduced who will get benefit of that? Not only Patidar’s, but people from each and every castes and community will get benefits of it, if EBC will be introduced. Therefore, this movement have been started by the Patidar’s but it will result in benefit for all. The important point is the movement has started. It was not about demonstrating our power, but in reality it was the pain of the people which forced them to join this movement. And that’s why people from other communities have supported this movement. If it was about demonstrating/showing power, than very few people have joined this movement, we could have not get support from other communities and why should we show our power? Therefore, this movement is not against anyone or any community, our fight is direct with government, our stand is clear. Therefore, if anyone is making false claim that this movement is against some castes or community than its totally wrong. There is no rationality in such kind of false argument, be aware of such kind of people and their false arguments. They might have several hidden interest in making false arguments about this movement. Why should we oppose anyone or any community?

Now, coming to the solutions part, Your first idea of removing entire caste based reservation and making entire country free from reservation is not fair, because it would have disastrous repercussions.

Second, I have been always supporter of the reservation based on the Economic Condition and not on the Castes, Community and Religion. Therefore, I agree with the second solution, which is remove caste based reservation and introduce Economically Backword Class (EBC). Reservation must be given on the basis of Economic Condition, and not on the basis of the Caste Community and Religion. If, the government introduce this, than it would be welcoming step, for the entire nation.  Because very few people are getting the real benefits of the current reservation policy among the reserved categories. The present reservation system has increased the gap between two communities following under the reserved categories, because only very few or who are in higher position are getting the real benefits of reservations. The really needy people among the reserved castes and community are still waiting for the fruits of the reservations. At the same time, the poor and needy people, who don’t comes under the reservation are still waiting for the benefits of the reservation. Therefore, now it’s time to change the reservation criteria, it must be based only on the Economic Conditions and not on the Caste, Community and Religion. To do this, people from each and every corner of the country must raise their voice and create a NEW DISCOURSE/DEBATE on reservation. Government must take it seriously, Nav Nirman Andolan which later became JP Movement, is a big example for government to take this movement seriously.

And, finally whether you will agree with me or not, this two month agitation have been successful and has given a new discourse to the country, now people, media, academicians, education institutions and religious organizations have started discourse on reservation. Only, politicians who are in power are not talking about it clearly and with courage. They, need to talk about it seriously, to change the current system.

Be United, Stand United and Remain United..

First of all, I would like to explain the word UNITY. What this word mean? And what Power this word has. After explaining unity, I would relate this word to one of the great and powerful personality of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The general/common understanding of the word unity is to gather in a huge number (I mean just only counting the head). For me, unity is more than that and goes beyond just counting the head. For me, unity mean WE, to come together for wide interest, thinking with one mind, working together with one heart irrespective of caste, creed, and religion to achieve a common purpose.  Further, unity gives message that although we are different in many ways we can work and live together in a way that benefits our society and nation as well. Unity must base on democratic values, open mindedness and the concept of multiculturalism, where all live side by side harmoniously with equality and mutual respect. There are several most important resources of the unity like, love, loyalty, friendship, co-operation, understanding and most importantly trust. Without these resources one cannot think about unity.
The 21st century is a century of unity. Look at the present scenario of the globe there is a thrilling movement toward unity (with having different goal).  It is bringing together millions of people of all nations, tribes, and languages every year. The Arab Spring, is a best example of how people united to over through the dictatorship and establish a better form of government in the name of democracy. It doesn’t matter what is the level of it. It may be arise at local, domestic, national, and international level people will unite for the betterment of the individual, society and nation. As being involved in a student affairs, I know the importance of the unity.
The people will only unite for the good causes and betterment of the people, society and nation if there is a powerful and attractive leadership with democratic principles. The Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel was a leader of that kind, with having powerful and attractive leadership who has united the country at that time. But today, we are still not united. Today, we are divided in the name of caste, creed, religion, and language which is most dangerous for the development of any society. The death of Nido shows the level of diversity of our society. Today, we are really feeling the absence of the Biscmark of India Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel and its leadership qualities. The Statue of Unity is a symbol of harmony and integrity of the country. This is a way to unite people for the betterment of the society. It gives the message of nationalism and unity. I am sure that, the Statue of Unity will make people to think and run for unity for the betterment of the society and country. And I must say that, the leadership of the honourable Prime Minister Shree Narendra Modi, who reflects the leadership qualities of the Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel will unite the nation once again.
Here I would like to end by one of the best quote of Sardar Patel,
Manpower without Unity is not a strength unless it is harmonised and
…united properly, then it becomes a spiritual power.

We must support our PM, the Statue of Unity, and each other to unite our nation. And we must stay in the fight, for ourselves and for our children, and for the betterment of the society, our nation, and other species as well.

Think before going to vote…

Are you choosing a political leader of your choice or your vote going precise???

I would like to start with a simple question that why we are voting or why to vote? The simple and general answer of this is that our country (India) is a democratic country and that’s why we have a right to vote and choose our representative. Another question here is that why we choosing our leader or representative. Again we can get a very simple answer that we can’t represent ourselves or it is not possible to represent ourselves and people says that we can’t make rules and laws  that’s why we are choosing our representative. Ok well enough, the right to choose these representatives is in our hand, so that it is very important for everyone to know that is your vote is going to choose the leader or representative of your choice or whom you really want to choose, everyone says yes because they are not looking behind that ballot or they do not know the insights. If anyone asks me the same question are you choosing political leader of your choice or your vote going precise? My answer will be like this, actually we are not choosing the representative instead we are choosing the robot and statue which can’t run without back force, same with our political leaders they are not taking their own decision all the decision are taken by the back force which is active at back door and for them several terms are used like, back-office boys, mentors, back-room brains, back brigades, adviser and etc.
We are choosing a leader of our choice because we have faith in him/her and its ability, with the purpose to take his/her own decision for the wellbeing of society, but the reality is different from which is shown, here are some examples of this back-room brains as follow, who are taking the decision for the leader, whom you have choose and elect.

Kanishka Singh back-brain behind Rahul Gandhi, in spite of having law profile playing a big role in party’s affairs.
Ramchandra Prasad Singh is behind the Bihar CM Nitish Kumar.
Shaffi Mathur back-door brain of Ommen Chandy, Kerala CM.
Cho Ramaswami the back door brain of Jayalalitha.

·       You can’t find any politician without these back-door brains today, the leaders like MK Gandhi and Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel doesn't need this type of back force and that’s why they became a great leader, we need this type of leader who have their own decision making capacity.  Isn't it interesting ?

Media on terrorist attack

After reading about terrorism, especially from newspaper articles and news from electronic media, enables me to write something on terrorism and media.
First, it is important to know that what terrorism is. Some experts of international politics say that terrorism is a motivated violence, with the aim of destabilizing civil order and creating panic among people and government. What I feel about terrorism is that, the terrorism is an activity of killing innocent people to serve or secure special interest of someone or something. There are several kinds of terrorism such as, political terrorism, ethnic terrorism, state terrorism, religious terrorism and international terrorism. The activity of each such group is different with a common objective to secure and survive their interest at any cost.
There have been many terrorist attacks in India in last ten years; since 2000 there have been attacks every single year. There was an attack on Delhi high court on the 8th of august 2011. I was watching the news of that attack on TV. Every news channels was highlighting the same news. Their coverage was very horrible; the same was the case with print media. They were also showing the data that the certain number of people died in this attack and several people were injured. It also said that the Harakat-ul Jihad Islam (Huji) had accepted the responsibility of this attack. What do you think? Is it really true? If it is true than do you think our government will take any extreme reaction or step towards it, you will find the NO as an answer, this is not my view, and this is the view of the people whom I actually don’t know. On the evening of post-attack, when I went for a tea there were a many people having tea with this hot topic of the attack. Approximately 25 people were there, some of them are students, and all are blaming the government for the attack and saying that government should do this and that. They were also gave an example of USA and Israel; about how these countries deal with the terrorism, India should learn from them. In short all were against the government’s ability. What I personally feel is that this is the impact of media on the people. At same time there were many people are dying due to the state sponsored terrorism, the AFSPA in Kashmir is an important example of it, many women are raped by our own officials, innocent people and children are held responsible force fully for terrorist activity and they were killed with the label of terrorist. People are dying every day due to lack of bread and butter, poverty, healthcare facilities and domestic violence. People also not getting basic facilities to survive, farmers are committing suicide because of crop fail. I think media should produce this type of news more to make people able to understand, which real and more important problem is.
What I feel is that the state sponsored terrorism and the issues which I have mentioned above are more urgent. What do you think??? Please give your views and comments.

WHOSE MOVEMENT, BILL(LOKPAL), IS THIS ???

I hope that you all aware about the word “LOKPAL BILL”, and what really it is, what it’s mean and what it’s object? Since few days it is blowing rapidly in the Indian masses and it has create a revolution and it is also going to change in Indian Political system this is not new word it is invented before 40years ago, I am not trying to say what it is and what it’s object what I am trying to explain is that Whose movement and Bii(lokpal) is this ?. If you go through the news channel or any news paper or internet they all producing one and only news about the agitation against corruption going at ramlila maidan Led by social activist Anna hazare and his team in the capital of our country, all media and many scholar saying that this is a movement of civil society or people’s movement. Now another question raise in my mind who and what civil society is?, if the people who are supporting to this movement are from the civil society then What about the others who are not supporting this movement Are they not a member of civil society?. I think 2 or 3% people of total population supporting this movement what about the others? I also found that the 70% people who are supporting this movement are from urban middle class, why this number is big? What about the rural people are they supporting this movement? Or how many from them know about this movement? If numerous people are not supporting this movement then how can we say that it is people’s movement? If it is people’s movement then what about the people who have elected their representative I think this number is larger than these supporters, what about them? Any one has tried to know their views? Then how can we say that it is people’s movement?  The rest 30% is filled by bureaucrats, sport person, models and film stars. The Indian cricket team has also support to the movement you know the reason why, the reason is that they lost all four test match series against England, so they supporting this movement and drawn the attention of people towards it. The another question is also striking in my mind that Why leading capitalists of our country not supporting this movement? After going through this movement and discussing with my friends i still confuse and did not get the satisfied answer of the questions (Whose movement and bill is this?), if you have let me know.
